The Starters Journey mini- program

A focused mini program for Scrum Masters who want to grow from “invisible facilitator” to visible servant leader.

In this Starter Journey you work on the foundations of servant leadership and clarity in your role.
You won’t get more Agile theory, you’ll get structure, reflection and practice to change how you actually show up as a Scrum Master.

What you will learn:

By the end of this Starter Journey, you will:

  • have a personal, grounded definition of servant leadership

  • understand how your system (team – Product Owner – organisation) shapes your role

  • see your visible and invisible work more clearly

  • know where you already lead and where you tend to hide or over-give

  • recognize your autopilot patterns under stress (fixing, pleasing, freezing, over-explaining…)

  • be more aware of your inner voices, triggers and body signals

  • have trained 4 concrete Servant Leadership skills in your real work:

    • The Observer

    • The Compass

    • The Focus Keeper

    • The Sensemaker

  • and have several micro-experiments to keep practising in your daily work

Psychological safety is your foundation

In this program, psychological safety is not an extra topic. it’s the foundation behind everything you practice:

- slowing down and really listening (The Observer)

- naming what you see in the system (The Sensemaker)

- protecting focus and sustainable pace (The Focus Keeper)

- staying connected to what truly matters (The Compass)

Module 1- Foundations of Servant Leadership

Build a clear base and an honest picture of your reality.

You’ll:

  • explore what servant leadership really means (and what it doesn’t)

  • map your role in the system: team – Product Owner – organisation

  • discover why so much of your work is invisible by design

  • reflect on moments where you felt strong and small as a Scrum Master

  • create your own working definition of servant leadership

  • identify where you already lead – and where you tend to hide or over-give

  • short, to-the-point lessons

  • reflection sheets like System Map of My Role, Visible / Invisible Work and Where I Lead / Where I Hide

  • a simple leadership story page to capture your starting point

  • Practice Studio – Module 1:

    • train The Observer (deep listening & noticing)

    • train The Compass (staying oriented on what really matters)

Module 2 - Lead with Clarity

From energy trap to focus, purpose and calm confidence.

You’ll:

  • recognise the Energy Trap – busy but not truly impactful

  • reconnect with your purpose as a Scrum Master and servant leader

  • explore how to communicate with calm confidence

  • see where you slip into Fixer mode instead of Facilitator mode

  • start making clearer choices about where your time and energy go

Format (compact)

  • short lessons that link the Energy Trap, purpose and clarity to your real week

  • practical worksheets to look at your time, energy and focus

  • light exercises to shift from Fixer to Facilitator

  • Practice Studio – Module 2:

    • train The Focus Keeper (protecting focus & saying “not now”)

    • train The Sensemaker (naming what you see & asking clarifying questions)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this only for “experienced” Scrum Masters?

No. It’s for Scrum Masters (and Agile / team coaches) who feel there’s more in them, whether you’re early in the role or already seasoned.

Do I need live sessions to follow this?

No. It’s fully self-paced. You can go through it in small chunks or a few deep-focus sessions.

Can I use this if my organisation is not “very Agile”?

Yes. Most people using this are in messy, real-world organisztions. The reflections and Practice Studio are built for that reality.
